Sarah Falkiner has been a Chicago public school teacher for 16 years. She fell in love with theater in High School and brought that love to various afterschool programs. She did a three year photography program in Cabrini Green with youth documenting the demolition of their high rise homes and did several theater productions with her current school in  West Humboldt Park, including a social justice program called, “Leaders 4 Change” in which she collaboratively wrote scripts with students around important issues the group selected.  She would direct and produce the plays for school and community wide performances.
In 2017, Sarah wrote her first script, entitled “Vince: The Punctual Vagrant” (2020). She wanted to make a film that would increase awareness and empathy through narrative film. This 25 minute short film has been used several times to raise money for Chicago NFP’s that help those without homes. In the meantime, she has wrote, produced and directed 9 other short films.  Stand out shorts include “Oliver Tibbold” (2021) a story of a man losing his identity with age and “White Female” (2022) about racial disconnect between two childhood friends.
