Sim Tumay

Sim Tumay is a Turkish-American documentary filmmaker and journalist who focuses on themes around women's rights, mental health, environmental justice, and education. Previously, she worked at Downtown Community Television Center as a researcher and story developer for high-profile networks such as HBO and Netflix. For her undergraduate studies, she attended New York University where she studied human rights and journalism. Sim recently graduated from Columbia Graduate School of Journalism where she focussed on documentary filmmaking and magazine writing.
