You might think, "Oh, of course the guy who wrote the book it's based on gave it five stars." That's valid. But look, this is so much Kate's creation that I have no qualms about leaving a review for it. Can You Hear Me is a special book to me. This whole project came about because I casually told Kate she was the only person I'd trust to adapt it. I had no idea what kind of bonfire I was lighting when I said that, but she's done nothing but prove me right ever since. My book has heart and emotion, but Kate gave it a soul. I'm truly honored to have my name attached to this, and I'm so amazed at what Kate (and Mariah and John and Alexa and Connor) accomplished with the story.
